Borough President Adams delivers gifts for children in need
Brooklyn students got some early holiday gifts from Borough President Eric Adams Sunday.
Children up to 12 years old got to pick out their own toys at the Flatlands Family Residence, a shelter for residents in need.
The event was part of Adams' Adopt a Shelter program, where the mission is to integrate homes into the community without fear of any kind of homeless stigma.
Children who live at the shelter also got pajamas and coats for the winter.
One mother at the shelter told News 12 she is very grateful for the support since she entered the facility and says it's enough to help her get back on her feet.
