A strong nor'easter will form along the southeastern coast of the US late this week. This storm will possibly move along the Carolina coastline and near New York City Saturday into Sunday. The latest trends are about 50/50 with one scenario keeping the storm well offshore, but leaving the city on the eastern fringe of the storm. Meanwhile, another scenario brings the storm slightly closer to the city with a chance of light snow. There’s still a lot uncertainty with the timing, track and potential impacts. There's still time for the storm to shift back and forth over the next few days. We'll continue to watch and keep you up to date with the latest.
We're on day five of sub-freezing temperatures. We’re locked into this arctic air mass through next week. This will be the longest stretch of sub-freezing temperatures since 2018, which lasted 9 days. The record is 16 days, setback in 1961. Temperatures will be in the 30s through next week.
