A DENSE FOG ADVISORY is in effect through 11AM. Visibility is down by less than a mile across the city. Proceed with caution while driving and leave plenty of room between you and the cars in front of you.
A WIND ADVISORY is in effect 2PM this afternoon through 4AM on Tuesday. Gusts up to 50 MPH is expected, isolated 55 MPH+ is possible. Gusty winds will bring the risk of power outages and downed trees.
Prepare for a mild and messy day. Round one of showers and dense fog is disrupting the morning commute. Expect poor visibility, large puddles and ponding on the roads. We catch a break from the stormy weather during the midday and early afternoon. Expect a mostly cloudy sky, some patchy drizzle and mild temperatures near 60 degrees.
Round two of showers and t-storms will be around 3PM into the evening commute. The worst of the storm will be after 10PM-12AM. Scattered stronger thunderstorms containing damaging wind gusts up to 60 MPH, heavy rainfall, small hail and lightning is possible after sunset. It won't be consistently raining all day, one or two storm cells could turn severe tonight. There's a higher risk of severe weather South and West of the city. However, plan for slow travel and delays due to localized flooding, isolated power outages and downed trees through tonight.
Temperatures nosedive into St. Patrick's Day with highs in the low 40s and gusty winds up to 35 MPH. Temperatures remain unseasonably cool in the 40s through Thursday with dry conditions and lighter winds. Spring officially begins on Friday at 10:46AM. Highs will climb to the 50s Friday and Saturday, before we cool down on Sunday. Stay tuned for updates.
