A Broadway dancer from the Bronx who has scoliosis wants to get the borough moving.
Paige Fraser was diagnosed at age 13, but didn’t let it stop her dreams of being a performer.
She is currently in “The Lion King” on Broadway. Prior to that, she was a dancer with Ailey II and Visceral Dance Chicago.
Now that she is back in the Bronx, her focus is with the Paige Fraser Foundation that she started with her aunt, Lesmah Fraser.
"Our dance program is actually expanding,” she said. “So, this year we will be doing ‘Dance Strong’ and ‘Dancing to Bond.’ These two programs are for young artists with issues with motor skills and gait alignment coordination."
They have received help expanding through grants from the Bronx Arts Council and the New York Arts Council.
