It was a children?s fairy tale come true for some Bronx students Saturday who were treated to a day at the world famous Manhattan toy store, FAO Schwartz.
The students from Bronx public schools were greeted by toy soldiers as they walked the red carpet for private access into the 5th Avenue store. The kids had breakfast in the ice cream parlor, had their faces painted and were treated to puppet show. The almost 200 kids were then escorted to meet Santa where everyone received their dream toy.
The event was hosted by the Fields Family Foundation. The organization has sponsored Christmas parties for underprivileged kids for the past 18 years. The cause has evolved in the spectacular holiday event at FAO Schwartz.
It was the second year the event was held at the toy store and the director says it has doubled in size since last year.
