Temperatures are expected to rise above average starting Monday afternoon – a relief for Bronx residents who have been dealing with extreme cold temperatures.
News 12 spoke to community members in Fordham who said they were freezing with many buying hats, gloves and scarfs on the street to bundle up. 
“It’s really cold. It’s terrible. If you don’t have to go out, don’t go. Stay home,” said Suny Alberez.
As ice and snow melts, the salt on the roads and sidewalks will remain. Those walking dogs should to cover their paws and limit their time outside so they don’t get scratched up.
