Lego fans will soon be able to build some of Brooklyn’s most iconic landmarks as part of a collaboration with The Brooklyn Studio. 

Brendan Coburn, architect and founding partner of The Brooklyn Studio, is a lifelong fan of Legos, but the smallest and most unique piece in his office is that of Brooklyn’s historic buildings.  

The Brooklyn Studio is an architecture firm that restores historic buildings across the borough. Every year, they make a special gift for their clients. For the firm’s 25th anniversary, they opted to pay homage to Legos, something that Coburn says is often a source of inspirations for architects.  

“One of the reasons you end up becoming an architect is because at some point in your life you had Lego sets… for me it was a key thing,” said Coburn.  

The Brooklyn Studio hired a U.K.-based Lego artist to design the set. It includes Prospect Park, Grand Army Plaza, Park Slope’s historic rowhouses and brownstones, and the Carroll Street Bridge. They initially did not plan to sell the set, but they received such an overwhelming response that they changed their minds.  

They have yet to determine how much the set will cost, but plan to officially announce it next week.
