A text message is making its way across New York City and it is targeting residents in Brooklyn and their wallets.
The scam claims to be from 'NYC CityPay', pretending to be from the app that many New Yorkers use to pay for street parking.
The Adams administration launched an investigation that quickly shut down 11 domains affiliated with the scam.
Though the risk has subsided since it was initially seen, it is still important to remain vigilant. If you receive a similar message, ignore it, block the sender and do not press the link.
