Slate Property Group and RiseBoro Community Partnership are breaking ground on one of the most sustainable affordable housing buildings in Brownsville.
The Brooklyn building has been designed as an all-electric passive house that uses zero fossil fuel for heating and operations.
Organizers say the building will be 100% affordable with 216 new homes, including units serving formerly homeless young adults and families.
