The Kings County District Attorney's Office, along with other elected officials, is drumming up support for local nurse service programs.
The free programs are designed to help low-income first-time parents deal with the ups and downs of raising an infant. Experts say many child abuse cases stem from a lack of parenting knowledge.
The district attorney's office says two dozen deaths in Brooklyn each year are attributed to child abuse.
