Meanwhile, others are opting to carpool to destinations like the Hamptons. Tamara Simpson says her car will stay in park while she enjoys the weekend with her children for free. Energy industry analysts say it?s a choice many Brooklyn drivers will have to make throughout the summer as gasoline prices are expected to climb.

AAA predicts a whopping 41 million Americans will travel by car this weekend. Officials say the best way to save money is to make sure cars have oil and tires are properly inflated. AAA also advises drivers to start their trip with a full tank.
