Russell Francis' greatest hope was to see quarterback Tim Tebow traded to his beloved New York Jets, and while he didn't live to see it happen, his family found a special way to honor his final wish.
Francis lost his yearlong battle with lung cancer Saturday, just days before the deal sending the Broncos' quarterback to the Jets was finalized.
"He said, 'Mom, I know Tebow is coming to the Jets, and this year it's going to be the Super Bowl year for the Jets,'" recalls Francis' mother, Mary.
Today, Francis was laid to rest dressed in Tebow's new Gang Green jersey, and nearly all of the mourners followed suit to honor the Brooklyn man's favorite team.
