A day care worker is accused of abandoning two young children from Brooklyn at a mall on Long Island.
Police say Nicole Noble, from Elite Christian Day Care in East Flatbush, left the 2- and 3-year-old kids at Westfield South Shore Mall Wednesday afternoon.
The toddlers were found playing near JCPenney all by themselves, prompting a search for their parents.
Noble is being charged with two counts each of child abandonment and endangerment.
Many neighbors in East Flatbush say they are shocked. One woman told News 12 that she has been taking her daughter to Elite Christian Day Care for years, adding that this isn't like Noble to just leave the kids all alone.
She says a number of kids are cared for on any given day and that the day care has been open for more than 20 years.
