Police are searching for the killer of a Brooklyn real estate owner and former corrections officer who was found beaten to death in his Bedford-Stuyvesant home Tuesday.
Tenants of 47-year-old landlord Dave Walker were shocked to hear of his brutal death. They described Walker as a kind and generous man who was an up-and-coming leader in the community.
Before beginning a career in real estate, Walker spent 20 years in the Department of Corrections and reached the rank of captain. After retiring from the force, Walker bought several properties in Bedford-Stuyvesant and Downtown Brooklyn.
So far, no arrests have been made in the case.
