Brooklyn has lost one of its most prominent and beloved high school basketball coaches.
Apache Paschall continued to coach girls basketball at Nazareth High School, attending both games and practices, while undergoing chemotherapy for skin cancer.
Paschall worked tirelessly for his players, finding the program a new school after it was left homeless due to school closures two years ago. Now with his help, about a half-dozen players are headed for scholarships after winning the city and state titles back in March.
Paschall had said in November that he wouldn't let the kids see him quit.
