Mother fights to solve cold case East New York murder

Crime Stoppers raised the reward for information related to the case from $2,500 to $10,000.

It's been seven years since 16-year-old Clayton Hemingway Jr. was gunned down in East New York, and his mother hasn't lost hope that this cold murder will be solved.
On Wednesday, Dionne Boyd gathered with family and friends outside the Linden Houses where the teen lived and was fatally shot at back in 2017.
"Some people give up you know, but I have that faith as small as a mustard seed that somebody will say something," Boyd said.
NYPD Crime Stoppers stopped by the vigil to canvass the area with flyers in hopes of stirring up tips that could lead to an arrest in the case.
It raised the reward for information from $2,500 to $10,000.
"Thats some hope, money talks," said Boyd.
As News 12 reported, Clayton was fatally shot just steps from his home after playing basketball nearby.
Two people were seen walking away from him in surveillance video before one of them fired the fatal shots.
