The Brooklyn Museum is continuing its tradition of focusing on Brooklyn-based artists with a new exhibition.
The "Crossing Brooklyn" exhibit on display features works by 35 artists or artist groups who solely live or work in Brooklyn.
The exhibit engages artgoers with contemporary-based pieces through paintings, collected objects, digital displays and more.
Much of the work featured is nontraditional and multicultural, like Brooklyn itself.
The Brooklyn Museum has showcased Brooklyn-based artist exhibitions since the early 19th century.
The exhibit is on display now through Jan. 4.
