Brooklyn Museum exhibition features 25 years of works from Brooklyn artist KAWS
An exhibition at the Brooklyn Museum is taking visitors on a journey through the 25-year career of an acclaimed artist from the borough.
Bright, colored artwork and larger-than-life sculptures give museum-goers an immersive experience of the KAWS: What Party exhibition.
The show features more than 100 pieces by the Brooklyn artist known as KAWS. His works include figures of his popular “companion” characters and paintings of cartoons, like the Smurfs.
The artist's early graffiti drawings from the 90s are now on display for the first time ever in the U.S.
The exhibit also features some of KAWS's more recent works that depict feelings surrounding the pandemic.
The exhibition will run until September.
