Brooklyn residents marched to bring awareness to domestic violence in East New York Saturday.
According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, one in every three women has experienced some sort of physical violence by an intimate partner in their lifetime. For men, that number is one in four.
Survivors of domestic violence like Joyice Scott-Brayboy say it's hard for women to escape abusive relationships. She says this march helps those still suffering know they have support.
"The victims who are currently experiencing it can hear us and they know that we're here for them, they're not a lone and that there is help" Scott-Brayboy said.
