Members of Stop the Violence rallied in Bedford-Stuyvesant Sunday to draw attention to crime that has plagued the area.
Founder Geoffrey Davis, whose brother James Davis was murdered in 2003 during his tenure as a City Council member, founded the organization. Davis led participants along Nostrand Avenue. He cited several recent murders as motivation for residents to be vigilant.Several Bed-Stuy homeowners told News 12 Brooklyn the increased police presence has helped to improve the living conditions.
