Students at Fort Green Preparatory Academy are fighting back against hate in their communities – and showing it through artwork.
The students were partnered up with a professional muralist to create a mural titled “Disrupting The Hate”. The school says this not only allowed students to voice their feelings, but do so through artistic expression.
"The kids wanted to show that how education and social media kind of keeps them off balance, which is amazing to come from 5th graders, 6th graders, 7th graders,” said Khadedra Hall, co-founder and CFO o They wanted to show the world that you know, basically their thought process."
The mural now sits in the school’s cafeteria for the entire student body to see.
