A new company and app is designed to allow people to keep an eye on their dogs and have peace of mind while running around.

News 12 first learned about Dogspot when it was known as Dog Parker and was just starting up as a company back in 2015.

Dogspot was designed for the New Yorker on the go. 

“You can bring them with you on your errands, so they don’t miss out on something and you don’t miss out on them,” says Maria Humphries, of Williamsburg.

What started in a Bed-Stuy garage, has now expanded to multiple locations like South Carolina, Texas, Minnesota and Connecticut. 

"Keep an eye on your dog while they're inside and just see the temperature and just make sure that everything is going well," says Rebecca Eyre, of Dogspot.

A card or the app is used to open Dogspot, which only allows one account at a time. 

Even though the temperature is in the 30s, inside of Dogspot is a comfortable 57 degrees. The box also protects dogs from fleas and other drugs. 

It has a heated floor and air conditioning, so that the temperature can be regulated. There's also fresh air ventilation and UV lights that are hospital grade and kill bacteria and viruses and is activated between each session.

The company ran into trouble last February, when many of their boxes were removed because they were on public property, but they say they still want to expand more. 

As of right now, the company operates on private property which is hard to come by in some New York City boroughs.

The company is working with New York City to pass legislation to be able to put Dogspots on public sidewalks.

The city council will vote on that in the spring.
