Gyms across the city are seeing an influx of new members looking to commit to a healthier 2018.
New York Sports Club on East 15th Street reported an increase in client enrollments just a day into the New Year.
Fitness experts say the months of January and February are typically very busy due to the influx, but they say consistency starts to drop in March.
News 12 spoke to several gymgoers with advice on how to stay on track this year.
"Make small lifestyle changes and that's ultimately how it became a habit for me,” said Ruth Reisman, of Borough Park. “You know, changing my diet slowly or working out a little bit more every time, finding a new routine."
Some like Rochelle Shriqui, however, say fitness should be a daily routine.
"You dont need new years to make a resolution,” she said. “I think that you can make a resolution anytime you want.”
