Residents at the Bronx River Houses held a meeting tonight after a man was shot in the leg at the basketball court last Thursday night.
Tenants say police, elected officials and a New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) representative were there to reassure parents and children that they will be protected.
Since the shooting, almost 100 kids stopped attending the weekly basketball clinic.
Organizers say they will be able to resume their weekly clinic this Friday. They say police and at least one NYCHA representative will be present for every clinic from now on.
