The Chabad-Lubavitch community came together over the weekend to celebrate its 18th anniversary.
Hundreds of people turned out for the event as the Chabad of Kensington also unveiled renovation and expansion plans in hopes of attracting more members. Congregants say the center has played a very special role in their lives and that everyone feels like family.
The 18-year mark is especially important because the number 18 in Hebrew is Chai, which represents life and good luck.
