A Coney Island icon turned 10 years old on Friday - and what better way to celebrate than a coaster-thon?
Not only was this an event for the thrills, but also for charity.
The crew at Luna Park hosted 10 different charities. The charity that could ride the Thunderbolt, celebrating its 10th birthday, and seven other rollercoasters - the most in two hours won a hefty prize-- $10,000. Second place received $5,000, third received $3,000 and each remaining charity received $1,000.

Charities from here at home like winner Coney Island Sharks and from afar like Florida's Give Kids The World say they love making a fun event like this into something that helps out the people their charities work hard to help out.
