A fire in the borough has left a 6-year-old boy in serious condition.
The blaze broke out at around 2:45 p.m. at 1101 Thomas Boyland St.
Witnesses say the autistic and asthmatic 6-year-old was trapped on the second floor of the home.
The fire chief confirmed that the boy was taken from the scene to Brookdale Hospital in critical but stable condition.
Authorities say another person suffered minor injuries and was also transported to the hospital.
The fire is now under control. Officials say the cause is still being investigated.
