A memorial service was held Sunday to honor the victims of the Buffalo supermarket and Uvalde, Texas, school shooting.
The Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Queens held the event.
Community advocates also called out for stricter gun laws during the memorial service.
Organizers told News 12 they started planning this service right after the Buffalo shooting in which 10 people were killed, and within that time, 21 people were killed in the Uvalde school shooting.
The hour-long service included a prayer and remembrance for those who have been killed from gun violence and in mass shootings.
The service happened just hours after a shooting claimed the lives of several people in Philadelphia.
Community advocates said that while gun laws in New York state are strict, the goal is to pass laws in other states to stop the bloodshed.
