The city?s Civilian Complaint Review Board has begun investigating the NYPD?s response to last week?s Borough Park protest.
The board received 14 complaints about the way cops responded during the protest in a heavily Hasidic area of Brooklyn. Last Tuesday, more than 100 residents filled the streets after they say police roughed up an elderly man pulled over for talking on his cell phone. Police claim the 75-year-old man refused to hand over his license and registration and later resisted arrest.
Meanwhile, a police chief has admitted to using inappropriate language while trying to disperse the crowds. But he has denied saying anything anti-Semitic. The Civilian Complaint Review Board says it could take months before the probe is complete.
