This year's senior class will be the last to graduate from Wingate High School, but students and faculty say it's really a special place. The Department of Education decided to phase out the school because of low test scores and high drop out rates. Students, however, say the school provided educational opportunities not found at other schools, including a nursing curriculum and a flight school program. Other Brooklyn high schools slated to close are Prospect Heights High School this June and Bushwick High School next year.
