The City Council will meet this month to make sure gas stations are following a law that helps keep their prices in check.
Council Speaker Christine Quinn and her colleagues announced that on Sept. 20 they'll evaluate a bill passed in 2006 that bans stations from raising prices more than once every 24 hours and ensure it is being enforced.
Council members will also consider a proposal that would require signs clearly indicating whether a service station charges different prices for cash and credit purchases.
