New York City Emergency Management on Wednesday honored the more than 100 NYPD and FDNY members who provided assistance to areas impacted by Hurricane Florence.
One team headed south on Sept. 11, and a second team went two days later. Each stayed more than a week in Pamlico County, North Carolina.
While many faced dangerous conditions, the task force members say they weren't focused on their own well-being.
They say they're ready to go out at a moment's notice to help with any emergency situation.
