The City of Englewood announced Monday it will be installing more surveillance camera in the area.
The city was approved for the more than $300,000 investment as of late July.
Residents and business owners told News 12 they are happy with the latest development.
I would say there is more crime now than when I was younger in Englewood, maybe in the last couple of years, I'd say five years," said Recon Jackson, Englewood. "A lot of things, shootings and stuff. I would say because of bad times."
"If it prevents people from doing anything bad because they think that they'll be filmed, I think it's a good thing,” added Ron Lieberman, owner of Palisade Jewelers.
Englewood police aren't announcing where exactly the cameras will be placed and it's unknown when they will be installed.
