Some Brooklyn restaurants have served their last meals for a while as the city cracks down on supposed nasty eateries.
A Pennsylvania Avenue Popeyes and DUMBO's Bubby's were the latest restaurants to turn away customers after inspectors slapped them with orders to close. The owner of Bubby's is fighting the case. Bensonhurst's Vegas Diner was also forced to close this week. Many restaurant owners complain the city is overreacting.
The push to close unsanitary eateries comes after a city inspector passed a Greenwich Village KFC/Taco Bell shortly before a large number of rats were seen scurrying around the store through a window.Related Information:Department of Health and Mental Hygiene: Restaurant Inspection Information
