A Williamsburg woman was quick to react after a teenager snatched her cellphone right out of her hand.
Clara Vondrich says she chased after the 13-year-old thief for five blocks along Wythe Avenue last Friday after he took her phone near a South 3rd Street coffee shop.
As she pursued the suspect, the 36-year-old even offered $200 to get her phone back, but to no avail. She finally caught up to the boy and held him until police arrived, but says the phone had already been handed off to another person.
Vondrich doesn't recommend that other robbery victims follow in her footsteps because it's too dangerous. "Let it go, it's not worth it," she says. "I was blessed that nothing happened."
