SUNDAY
Sunday will turn more humid and unsettled. Humidity will gradually build Sunday morning as the departing high allows a southwest flow to develop.
An area of low pressure will move west to east across the region, bringing increasing chances for heavy rain, gusty winds and embedded strong thunderstorms late Sunday into Monday.
SUNDAY NIGHT INTO MONDAY
The heaviest rain is expected after 8 p.m. Sunday and could continue through around 8 a.m. Monday, potentially making for a messy Monday morning commute across the Bronx and New York City.
Rainfall totals will depend heavily on the exact track of the low. Localized flash flooding is possible, especially in areas that see the heaviest downpours or repeated rounds of rain. Urban and poor-drainage areas will be particularly vulnerable.
