Today is less hot and mostly cloudy in the Bronx with just a slight chance for a shower by the afternoon. However, rain will return this weekend especially late Saturday into Sunday morning. It's a gloomy weekend, but not a total washout. Next week starts off absolutely beautiful with some of our nicest weather of the summer possible on Monday and Tuesday!

Rain is tapering off, but an isolated shower is possible throughout the day so it wouldn't hurt to bring an umbrella. Most of the morning is cloudy, but peeks of sunshine should return by lunchtime. It's cooler with temperatures slowly climbing to the mid 70s by lunchtime.
A few showers will return this evening with peeks of sunshine and high temperatures just short of 80-degrees. A breeze from the northeast will bring a cooler feel today compared to the past few. Overnight lows tonight will drop into the mid 60s.
Saturday is the wettest day of the stretch, but it's not a total washout. Expect cloudy skies and temperatures generally in the low to mid 70s for most of the day. The best chance for rain Saturday will come in the evening, but there could come with light rain and drizzle in the morning, worth knowing if you're headed to Summer Streets on the Grand Concourse, which closes to cars from 9am to 5pm.
At this time, severe weather is less likely on Saturday, but a few thunderstorms are possible in the evening which could produce localized flooding. If you have outdoor plans, the safest bet is scheduling them for earlier in the day, before showers and any thunderstorms move in during the evening.
Rain is possible Sunday morning, but peeks of sunshine could return by the afternoon. Watch out for a pop up afternoon storm. A cold front will move through and could bring a few isolated downpours midday with some sunshine mixed in between. One or 2 storms could be strong, but it does not look like an all day washout.
Plenty of sunshine is expected on Monday & Tuesday with pleasantly cool mornings near 60-degrees and afternoon highs near 80-degrees, about as good as it gets for a stroll around the New York Botanical Garden. Rain will return next Wednesday night into Thursday.
