Brownsville residents gathered Tuesday to unveil a mural that aims to highlight the hidden treasures of the community.
The colorful mural was created by young adults on probation who, through a two-year participatory public art project, help transform vandalized walls into painted murals.
The mural, titled "It's Not a Dream If You Will Do It," is located on Pitkin and Herzel avenues, and highlights Brownsville's past, present and future.
One of the young muralists from Brownsville tells News 12 that they hope to use the mural as a tool for social change throughout the neighborhood.
