Community councils in Brooklyn are calling for peace in the wake of the killings of two NYPD officers.
They met with the commanding officer at the 84th Precinct where there is a growing memorial to officers Rafael Ramos and Wenjain Liu.
The community councils say it is important to stand by police at this time, but they also recognize that the relationship between the police department and residents must improve.
The presidents of the community councils also plan to give prayer plants to the families of the two officers killed as a show of sympathy and support.
