Community leaders are demanding an end to violence following the brutal robbery of a 21-year-old woman in Crown Heights.
Community activist Tony Herbert spoke publicly about the Oct. 2 assault, which was caught on surveillance video already released by the NYPD. He says local businesses need to keep an eye on their cameras for any suspicious activity.
News 12 spoke with the victim, who says she wants what happened to her to make her a stronger person.
The surveillance video shows three men grab the woman as she walked down the street, throw her against a wall and punch her in the face multiple times. They then got away with her cellphone and purse.
The victim was treated at Methodist Hospital for a broken nose and cuts to her face.
