The city's Department of Buildings is investigating a Williamsburg construction site neighbors claim is unsafe. Residents who live near the Maspeth Avenue construction site say they are worried about falling debris, such as unused nails from nail guns and Styrofoam particles from the building. ?Just this past weekend, there was a big piece of plastic floating around,? said neighbor Ed Feliciana. Residents also say there isn?t a fence surrounding the site. They say vandals can?t be kept out of the building, and unsuspecting pedestrians aren?t kept at a safe distance. Officials from the Department of Buildings encourage residents to call 311 to report construction code violations.
