Con Edison is seeking more employees as the utility works to fully restore power. Con Edison is seeking 900 temporary safety inspectors across the city. The job involves securing downed trees and power lines. Applicants must have a car, a clean driver's license and work boots. It pays $25 per hour. The utility is also looking for bilingual service representatives to take calls in their Brooklyn office. Con Edison officials say they've restored power to 70 percent of all those who lost power since Hurricane Sandy, but there are still 29,000 Brooklyn customers without power. Officials say they plan to restore electricity to schools by Monday, polling places by Tuesday and everywhere else within the next week.
