A concerned citizens group has helped the Atlantic City Police Department apprehend 17 men accused of trying to have sexual encounters with minors.

Police say that the group posed as underage children on various social media sites and tried to set up meetings with the accused. The group would then contact the police and show them screenshots of the conversations and detailed information that was shared.

The men were charged with luring and enticing a child by various means.

Of the 17 arrested, seven were from New Jersey.
