Four tenants of the Surf Manor adult home complex have filed a lawsuit against the building owners, claiming the poor conditions in the building have become hazardous to their health.
Among the complaints listed in the lawsuit, the residents say the building is infested with bedbugs, garbage is never cleaned up, and the parking lot floods.
"It has just deteriorated over the years," says Eddie Dijols, who has lived at Surf Manor for five years and says the workers have always treated him poorly.
MFY Legal Services, who have filed the complaint, also got a restraining order which prevents the facility from retaliating against the residents. In a statement, the building administrators said the care and well-being of the residents has always been their highest priority.
