Coney Island's Luna Park is set to reopen this weekend amid wet weather in the forecast for Saturday.

The park is scheduled to welcome their first visitors of the 2024 season this Saturday. On Sunday, the park will hold its annual Egg Cream Christening.

Organizers say Sunday's event is rain or shine. As for Saturday's opening, we are still waiting to hear back. Currently, heavy rain is forecasted for Saturday along with the potential for flooding.

People News 12 spoke with say as long as the park is open, they will not be letting the wet weather stop them.

"Not really. The weather won't stop me. I'll go out and have a good time, enjoy myself, that's it," said Joe Love, a resident.

Organizers say admission to the park is free, while tickets for the rides start at $4.
