The Connecticut Bond Commission approved millions of dollars for local housing authorities in several cities, including Stamford.
Gov. Ned Lamont says the state needs to step up to make improvements in affordable housing now more than ever.
"There's demand right now, a lot of people are rediscovering our towns and cities," Lamont says. "There's a need for housing, a need for affordable housing and it also brings our towns and cities back to life, and given that you can borrow at extremely low rates, this is a good time to be doing it."
Some of the projects that received funding include housing for the elderly and disabled.
