Cooper Union students create website to reduce food waste

Students at Cooper Union are tackling climate change by coming up with ways to reduce food waste.
Aresha Gill and her peers at the New York City school created a website called Food Renewed to come up with ways people can use their food waste for other products.
Their goal is to keep things simple and cheap.
"We thought about using our food waste," Gill says. "Our scraps, any teabags, any kind of food waste we want to use that as skin care products, edible projects or household items."
Students say each of us create 215 pounds of food waste each year.
