Police say they?ve arrested a man in connection with the burning death of an elderly woman in an elevator last night.
Officials say 47-year-old Jerome Isaac set 64-year-old Deloris Gillespie aflame after dousing her with an accelerant while she was in her building's elevator around 5 p.m. at 203 Underhill Ave.
Investigators say they believe Isaac had been waiting for her to arrive.
According to neighbors of Gillespie, Isaac had lived with her for about six months during the later part of 2010.
According to the NYPD, Isaac turned himself in to police overnight, stating that he had started the fire.
