A costume block party in Dumbo is aiming to provide a safe and fun way for families to celebrate Halloween.
Organizers say typically they would have a Halloween march to the arch, where the party would continue with lots of candy, but with the rainy weather, the party is staying under the Manhattan Bridge archway.
The weather didn't stop some of Brooklyn's scariest ghouls, witches and monsters from coming out to dance among the tombstones. They partied and had lots of candy- accompanied by a bejeweled brass band.
The annual party is organized by the Dumbo Business Improvement District. Organizers say this is a fun family event, and almost everyone's favorite part is seeing just how creative some people can get with their costumes.
Organizers say it's not only an annual tradition - but a safe way for everyone to enjoy the festivities.
Many of the partygoers stepped out to go trick-or-treating at some participating businesses in the neighborhood.
