A New York court has temporarily blocked the United States Department of Homeland Security’s attempt to redirect anti-terrorism funds from the MTA.

The U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York granted Attorney General Letitia James a temporary restraining order, preventing DHS from diverting the funds.

James sued the administration on Tuesday after it attempted to cut down $33 million of the security funding down to zero, an unlawful decision they say that was allegedly designed to punish New York for “sanctuary” policies.

“My office will never allow this administration to jeopardize New Yorkers’ security,” James said in a statement.
