With some pharmacies across New York City failing to meet the supply and demand of medications, finding the right remedy is turning into a challenge for many.
Dr. Rachel Frank, of NYU Langone,  says that people are in need of medication now more than ever, which makes finding that bottle of Tylenol or Motrin that much harder.
“Some of them have not had any viruses for the past two or three years because of social distancing,” said Frank, a pediatrician at NYU Langone Slope Pediatrics. “Now, they’re circulating at a rate that’s unprecedented.”
Dr. Frank suggests looking to generic brands instead of name brands for medication, and opting to give chewable tablets for young kids instead of liquid-form medicine.
She also urges parents to not get in a panic when their child has a fever.
