Dog days of winter: Pups find frosty fun at Prospect Park
Fresh snowfall drew dogs and their owners Monday to Prospect Park, where pups were basking in the slush and sunshine in the wake of the overnight storm.
For one puppy named Violet, it was her first romp in the snow. Her owner had worried Violet might be afraid, but found the white stuff "didn't faze her at all."
From first-timers to more seasoned dog walkers, the park saw plenty of pups frolicking in the March snow.
But it wasn't all fun and fetch. Some pup owners said they took time to put booties on their pup's paws to protect against the road and sidewalk salt, which can cause chemical burns. Others noted the extra cleanup time at home following a snowy romp.
